To be born and raised in San José, Costa Rica as a black latin female kinda grows on you to the point you forget “IT.”
Costa Rica brags about not being racist, (wait, that is too big of a word), they brag about being color blind (sounds better), yet that doesn't solve the issue, nor it makes it disappear.
We can agree this difference is created by the majority population which means it's power upon the minority population no matter what color they might be. So it is a power issue which only the group that creates it can solve.
So what is, not being color blind? How is it exercised? By not providing equal opportunities to the minority group; by diminishing racism and not admitting it exists. Is that color blindness?
But it is understandable, you can’t fight for what doesn’t affect you. Why would you?
Awareness and acknowledgment is a good start. That will bring you to acceptance and maybe then that is when you do something about it. Just remember blacks can’t do it. It is a white problem that needs a white solution.
