What if they dont return the Sinpe?

Updated: Nov 21, 2022

What would you do if you receive a notification from Sinpe Móvil on your behalf from an unknown person?

Be wary !: it may be the scam carried out by criminals with this banking system, used by thousands of people in the country.

The matter is like this:

Whoever scams, falsifies a payment receipt from Sinpe Móvil and sends it to them by SMS message. Later, she calls you to tell you that the transfer was not for you, and asks you to return the money, supposedly sent by mistake.

The Central Bank says that the main problem is that people do not verify, trust and make the transfer, without even seeing if they really received the money from the unknown person.

How to avoid falling for this scam?

One option is to send an SMS message with the word 'balance' to the number of the bank with which your Sinpe Móvil is affiliated. This will check if there really were any movements by mistake.

You can also send the word 'last' to the same number of your bank, which will notify you of the last five registered transfers.

But, what happens when the person to whom the money was actually sent by mistake does not return it claiming that he has to ask for permission at work to go to the bank (on foot, barefoot in the rain hundreds of kilometers away) to verify the transfer was really made, for example? Who is the scammer then?

Could it be that it was rather an angel who deposited that money and saved someone's batch and they are ashamed to admit it and need to see how they recover overtime to return? Am I being naive?

That is the case of KERLIN LEITON CASASOLA, she has been alleging for a month that she has to ask for permission from work to be able to go to the bank to verify that we effectively deposited 27 thousand colones in her account. $ 45 dollars approximately that she refuses to return because she has been scammed before?

Could it be like this? What do you think?
