Today our social media posts will be filled with greetings to the perfect mothers, the superwomen, who fill all the papers and do everything well; Therefore, today, I want to greet those who are not:
I want to greet mothers who are tired, very tired, that the fatigue is such that thinking about a little time for themselves is practically impossible and that, to top it all, they constantly receive criticism for "having abandoned themselves."
I want to greet the mothers who, despite their great potential, put aside their professional aspirations to take care of their families, because that is what their partner or society required of them.
I want to greet the mothers who took on the challenge of being professionals because their workload is double and the feeling of guilt for having their children “neglected” always haunts them.
I want to say hello to mothers who are so tired of all the roles they have to fill throughout the day that their own sex life and fulfillment went to the bottom of the list.
I want to say hello to mothers who have not bought anything for themselves for a long time because their needs are never a priority.
I want to greet the mothers who have given up the love of their life to fulfill their duty as a mother (who has not seen "The Bridges of Madison" and has cried waiting for Francesca to open the door of the vehicle and run away with Robert ...?)
I want to greet the mothers abandoned by irresponsible companions who were chasing the mirage of a lover; later, when they make her a wife, they realize that she is going to be as tired and burdened as the woman they left behind.
Finally, I want to greet the friends who are not mothers, by choice or because nature intended it, and who are constantly attacked and questioned by people who believe that a woman is not complete if she is not a mother. And also to friends who did not have a mother present and who on days like today collide with an "ideal" of a mother figure that is unknown to them.
For all of them a huge and respectful hug.
